I’ve been comatose trying to fit the college scene
And to stay afloat, I rearranged my phraseology
And I voted, in my psyche, to promote this gross mess
‘Til it was bye-bye birdie
But ever since You helped me build that boat
Didn’t need the stress and strains anymore
It rowed me out of that place
Similar to a pharmacy
Selling drugs I didn’t need

And on that note, I’d like to change all that I know
I’d like true feelings to show
And show that you don’t have to be
Inside a taxi
Just because it’s the only place
Where you get to drive in the backseat
No, I wanna be that first domino

I’ve been underlining all that’s not right
Switching teams to confuse my eyes
And I agreed, in my mind, to wait in the hotel lobby
Wanting other people’s lives
But ever since You helped me find the beat
Danced complicatedly to my relief
It got me out of magnified, terrifying plight
Now the whole thing’s being rectified

I’ve been nodding to show that I agree
I’ve been plodding along
Because I never felt that I should speak
Tell the taxi driver to drive
The hotel room was not alright
I took a bite of that life
And now the wrong is magnified
I have a feeling that I’m right
I have a feeling that I’m right
And if I have to be a proselyte
I wanna be an Israelite
